It is no longer a question of “IF” a cyber-attack will happen,
but “WHEN.” As the world’s fifh-largest economy, California’s
cities have unique requirements and rules that are different
from other municipalities in America. There are currently
multiple nation-states, cybercriminals, and hacktivists that
actively pursue cyber harm to California.

The FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) 2019 report
states that the “IC3 received a total of 467,361 complaints
with reported losses exceeding $3.5 billion. For the last
several years, the State of California has ranked number one
with a reported 50,132 victims in 2019. The most prevalent
crime types reported were Phishing/Vishing/Smishing/
Pharming, Non-Payment/Non-Delivery, Extortion, and
Personal Data Breach.

Cyber is no longer just a “tech thing.” All aspects of every
California community must be aware of cybersecurity and its
impact on government, education, law enforcement,
economy, and citizens. Whether you are new to
cybersecurity or a seasoned technology veteran, this webinar
has something for everyone. Join MISAC, the City of Fresno,
and Cal Poly’s California Cybersecurity Institute for a riveting
webinar on cybersecurity focusing on the City of Fresno.
