MISAC Volunteer Opportunities: Committees and Task Forces

Beyond access to conferences, events, data sharing and networking, MISAC membership also offers IT professionals the option to volunteer on MISAC’s committees and task forces. This National Volunteer Month, April 2018, the association thanks all volunteers for their contributions and encourages members to consider volunteering for a committee and/or task force.

“There are lots of things I love about volunteering for MISAC: the relationships with our members and past and present colleagues on the State Board, the professional development and networking, the learning and collaborative problem solving and the opportunities to give back to an organization that has given me so much,” said MISAC President Tim Williamsen in his recent President’s Message

MISAC’s committees and task forces play an important role in driving the association’s momentum. From conference planning to MuniTech Academy execution, participation in a committee allows members to contribute their experience and skills to help achieve MISAC’s goals and ensure a quality experience for all members.

“A leadership role on a MISAC Committee provides a support system, mentorship assistance and guidance to anyone interested in personal and professional development. Most importantly, it positions you and your organization at the forefront of digital innovation, which is truly leading the information and technology field today,” says Hong Sae, MISAC Legislative Committee Chair and CIO for the City of Roseville.

As of April 2018, there are six committees and three task forces available for MISAC members to join based on their interests, experience and availability. Committees are intended to provide long-term support for MISAC’s ongoing efforts; task forces are short-term and project-focused.
