On September 25, 2018, the Port of San Diego experienced a cyber-attack that disrupted a majority of their administrative and public safety systems.  Representatives of the Port of San Diego will be on hand at the 2019 MISAC Annual Conference to share their experience with attendees.

In this presentation, Kurt Smith and Eric Womack will share their real world experience responding to this event, the short-term mitigation efforts, and the long-term recovery.  This presentation will assist you in answering the question, "What if your 7 Day Cyber Recovery Plan has to last 70 days?"

Womack is a 29-year law enforcement veteran who is currently serving as the Captain of the Administrative Division of the Port of San Diego Harbor Police.  In addition to his law enforcement duties, he has served as the Department's technology systems and project liaison to the Information Technology department for the past fifteen years.  Womack was working the day the Port of San Diego fell victim to a Cyber Attack on September 25, 2018 and coordinated the initial response within the Harbor Police Department and ultimately oversaw the Department's subsequent recovery efforts.

This session is scheduled for Monday, September 30th from 4:00 PM - 4:55 PM at the Portola Hotel & Spa in Monterey.
