MISAC Modifies Affinity Partner Program

MISAC Executive Director Brad Walker recently announced the association’s Affinity Partner Program has been revamped in an effort to clarify the process for vendors and suppliers to acquire the MISAC Affinity Partner designation. “The biggest change made was to clarify that specific products and/or services would lead to a company getting Affinity Partner status."

Walker noted that prior to modifying the program, the association had been receiving unnecessarily excessively lengthy applications. “We are hoping future applications from vendors desirous of becoming Affinity Partners will be more concise. We believe we only need a couple of pages to start the process,” Walker noted.

“For the Affinity Partner Program to be a success, we need to create a win-win-win situation. The vendor has to achieve a win by garnering new or additional business. The MISAC member has to get a win as a result of being a MISAC member whether it be through lower pricing or additional services. The association wins through the Marketing Fee associated with the Affinity Partner application,” Walker added.

According to Walker, vendors and suppliers interested in becoming Affinity Partners can contact him (bradw@misac.org) for more information. “Essentially, we are asking interested companies not to try to sell us on their product or services, that’s their job. We are looking for a brief description of the product(s) and/or services(s) they want to offer MISAC members along with a description of what the benefits are that the MISAC member will receive as a result of being a MISAC member. In other words, what advantage does the MISAC member gain versus what a non-member would be accorded for the same product or service."  Walker concluded.

Walker did note that the Affinity Partner status is good for one year from the date the MISAC Board of Directors approves the Partnership. The Marketing Fee for a Partner company is $5,000 per year ($2,500 for Platinum Strategic Partners).
