Events Committee

You’ve seen other Chapters advertise their winery meetings, boat cruises, stadium tours, car racing, etc.  The MISAC Central Chapter can have fun too!  At the October meeting we will be creating an events committee to gather your thoughts on interesting MISAC Chapter events.

Save these future meeting dates:

Meet your Members:  This month you are meeting your 2 new Chapter Board members

Shane Steckleberg

Shane Steckelberg, the new Chapter Secretary/Treasurer is a Systems Engineer for Sacramento Regional Fire/EMS Communications Center.  He has been working at SRFECC in the Central Chapter for just a few months, but is very comfortable in his role as Systems Engineer for a public agency.  Shane served as a Technology Director for a school district, holding various board and committee roles in his position.  He also has recent experience in private consulting and has worked as a corporate network administrator for a national distribution company.   Shane has enjoyed being part of MISAC because he believes that collaborating with individuals in the same industry is crucial to understanding what works.   MISAC has great value to him because, in his words, “The community of individuals on the listserv is fantastic.”  Ask Shane about flying – he is extremely afraid of heights, but he loves to fly airplanes!

City of San Luis ObispoMiguel Guardado

Miguel Guardado , the new President-Elect of the Central Chapter, is the Network Services Supervisor for the City of San Luis Obispo.  He has been in SLO since 1998, and prior to that contracted with HP to provide help desk and network support for over 3000 users.  Miguel got involved in MISAC because of Ken Phillips, then in Atascadero, who encouraged the City of San Luis Obispo to join.  Miguel enjoys participating in the listserv and also spends a great deal of time helping to coordinate the annual MISAC conference.  If you see Miguel, ask him about his kids – Miguel , 16, and Saira, 7.  He’s also an avid World Soccer Cup fan.

The MISAC Listserve maintains an archive of all the old MISAC email threads.  This is an excellent resource for new members, as well as veterans who keep their inboxes clean.   The Central Chapter has requested the State to add a link to the MISAC website for easy access.   In the meantime, here it the link for your use:

The password is different than your password, so you may need to have the site send it to you.
